New Hand Painted Yarn

Last week was my week to go crazy over hand-painted yarns for the store. The first picture is hand dyed sock yarn from HPKY. Next month I will be getting some hemp blend yarn in the same colorways for a purse class I am teaching at the end of the month. I am also getting a little of the wool/silk blend that takes the dyes in jewel-tones.

The second handpainted yarn is from Linda Boozer, a customer/ vendor of mine who is also an alpaca farmer. She had the alpaca cleaned and spun at a mill but did the the hand-dying herself

I am going to be opening up an E-Bay store as soon as tax season is over and offer these as well as some other great sock yarns and hand painted yarns and rovings.

Quick Class Update

The Ribbon Shawl class will be this weekend Saturday March 31 at 1pm. Only skill needed to make this elegant shawl is the knit stitch and a simple increase and decrease. I will be updating this blog with the April schedule and some beautiful new handpainted yarn this weekend.

By the way a reporter from the Anniston Star came by the store last Thursday night for Knit Night. Monday morning my husband and one of my customers were right there on the FRONT PAGE of the newspaper along with a great article about the store along with another picture on the second page of the story. He got my name wrong, called me Pam and Linda at different times, but he got the store name right so I really don't care.

Customer Projects

Susanne came in today with a couple of projects she finished.

This is the same braided scarf that was on the cover of the Vogue Holiday issue. Instead of angora/wool blend in red, she used four different shades of pink in Cascade 220.

She also did the capelet from the cover of the Winter issue of Vogue. It turned out a bit big so she fulled it a little.
